Zlarin Coral Center opens! Free boat ride and entrance, concert, workshops, shows, kayaks, bicycles and a lot more this weekend on the island of Zlarin!

A varied and rich program for residents of Šibenik and guests is organized during the first two June weekends on Zlarin, and so that as many citizens as possible could enjoy the summer days on the island, tour the newly opened Coral Center Zlarin, socialize with music and participate in other activities, a free boat transport is organized from Šibenik! Find out all the details below!

 

Organized transportation from Šibenik

The ship Ina from quay Vrulje to Zlarin sails a total of four times in the first weekend of June according to the following timetable:

 

Saturday, June 3
departure at 10AM and 3PM
return at 7:30PM and 8:30PM

Sunday, June 4
departure at 10AMand 11AM
return at 4:30PM and 6PM

 

“Tickets for the boat can be picked up free of charge at the Arsen House of Art, while it is important to take care that passengers who set sail for Zlarin on the first schedule return from Zlarin to Šibenik also on the first schedule so that everyone has a guaranteed seat on the boat. The capacity of the ship is limited, and it can carry a maximum of 200 passengers in one trip,” emphasizes the Fortress of Culture, which manages the newly opened Coral Center.

Entrance to the Center is free until Sunday, June 11, until which time visitors can tour the renovated Kažerma House, where a very interesting story is told about the unbreakable centuries-old bond between coral and the people of Zlarin.

Visitors who want to see the Center in the first two weekends of June will be able to ride bikes around the island, which they can borrow free of charge. On both weekends in Zlarin, there is also an action for free membership in the Friends Club, which provides free entry to Šibenik’s fortresses and tickets for concerts at friendly prices.

 

PROGRAM

 

Saturday, June 3

The program on Saturday begins at 11 a.m. when the play Slanko and Vlastica begins on the stage in front of the House of Šare, while at noon the youngest visitors will have the opportunity to participate in the eco-workshop “More” in the House of Šare, which will be led by Lidija Lijić, multiple world record holder in diving at dah and director of Sea Shepherd Croatia. The workshop is intended for elementary school students, to whom Lidija will point out the need for its protection. The number of participants is limited, and registration is mandatory at citypoint@tvrdjava-kulture.hr, specifying the name and date of the workshop and contact information of the participants.

“Everyone who wants to see the newly opened Coral Center will have the opportunity to do so already on Saturday, June 3, when we organized two expert guides. The first one starts at 11:30 a.m., and the second one at 12:30 p.m. in Kažerma House – an exhibition space with a permanent exhibition that tells the story of the unbreakable bond between the people of Zlarin and coral, includes a presentation of the ecosystem and protected species of the Šibenik archipelago. Saturday’s program will conclude at 6 p.m. with the lecture Secrets of Coral, which will be held by Pavel Ankon in the House of Šare,” they say from Fortress Culture.

 

Sunday, June 4

The youngest visitors will also enjoy Zlarin on Sunday morning, because the Fingac Fiesta starts at 10:30 am. At Zlarin’s Fingac, children will have the opportunity to try their hand at speleopolygon, zip line, slack line, Frisbee throwing and much more!

– We have prepared a very interesting program on Sunday in Šare House. From 11:00 a.m., the breathing, sports and ecology workshop called Diving in silence will start, which will also be led by Lidija Lijić. The workshop is intended for adults, and participants will have the opportunity to learn about scuba diving for two and a half hours; about how to hold your breath, about the importance of proper breathing and the concept of mindfulness, all through the presentation of the work of the Sea Shepherd Association as the world’s leading association with the aim of protecting and preserving the fish stock – they point out from the Fortress of Culture. Registrations for this workshop are also required at citypoint@tvrdjava-kulture.hr with contact information and the name of the workshop.

On Sundays, visitors also have the opportunity to take a guided walk through the Coral Center at two times – at 11:30 a.m. and at 12:00 p.m.

Sunday will conclude with a concert by the JeboTon group, a team known for creating a great atmosphere! The concert starts at 1 p.m. at Finac in Zlarina!

 

Saturday, June 10

Saturday begins with sports – kayak tours for 10 participants, which depart from Trutina Mule at 10:30 and 12:30. The tours last an hour and a half, and registrations are required by e-mail to citypoint@tvrdjavakulture.hr with contact information and an indication of the date and time. It is necessary to bring comfortable clothes, enough water and sun protection. After the tours, it will be possible to rent kayaks as well as bicycles!

– Of course, we also thought of the youngest, who will have the opportunity to watch Virko’s play Veseli Šišmišići on Saturday from 11 a.m. on the stage in front of Šara House, and in the afternoon, starting at 4:30 p.m., they will be able to participate in a two-hour hip-hop workshop at Fingac under led by the dance group Toxic intended for children from six years of age – they say from Fortress of Culture.

On the second weekend also, two expert guides are organized by the Coral Center, the first at 11:30 a.m. and the second at 12:30 p.m.

 

Sunday, June 11

Kayak tours will be available on Sunday at the same times as on Saturday (10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.) departing from Tura’s Mule. The tours also last an hour and a half, and registrations are required by e-mail citypoint@tvrdjavakulture.hr with contact information and an indication of the date and time.

– Another opportunity to tour the newly opened Coral Center with expert guidance will be on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., and everyone who wants to can ride around the island on bicycles, which they can pick up free of charge at the entrance.
